Earagail Arts Festival and Summer Tour so far
Well its all a bit flat out since the Summer has arrived. In the last month we've been at a bunch of festivals and enjoying the busy schedule on the roads of Ireland. Rory Gallagher Festival and CastleBar Blues fell on the same weekend and were some craic to say the least. Shit does happen however and we had some misfortune heading to the 3rd gig at the Rory Fest on the Sunday when the clutch went on the van and we got broke down on the side of the road for a few hours. We cussed and then cussed some more...but did it no good...the clutch was still fecked! Back to Castlebar and played the Blues!
Limavady Blues Fest was brilliant fun, really loved the gigs there and caught some great acts. Mark Braidner Band was super. Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson were excellent also.
So it twas on to the Sea Sessions in Bundoran, and third time lucky we made it this year and had an excellent gig on the North Shore Stage. Sea Sessions is the kind of Festival I just love, right by the surf, heaps of good vibes and shiny happy people. The Chasin Bull gig that night rocked like hell. 2 and a half hours of none stop jammin madness. Sweaty sweaty petty!
Last weekend we took to the road again and played The DUnes in Strandhill on Friday, Clifden on Saturday and Crane Lane in COrk on SUnday night. Cant wait to get back to all 3 venues. The guinness tour of the West coast. Strandhill folk know how to party!!
This weekend coming is a big one for all involved with the Roots Orchestra. Were bringing the 13 piece in all its splendour and glory back into An Grianan Theatre for a very special showcase for The Earagail Arts Festival. Its one of the big ones for the Summer and weve been pulling together the big band for this very special night. Its mental eclectic, blues mad, eastern crazy and Irish insanity this time out. If you can get to the Show, it will be spectactular this time around. Enuff said on that one!
Be back with some more news soon!!
take care for now
